How to Spend Year End-New Year Holidays to Reduce Infection Risk

Japan was hit by the 3rd wave of COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning of this year.
In order to enjoy the COVID free Year-end/New-year holidays, be sure to continue to practice basic infection mitigation measures such as wearing a mask, washing hands, etc., even if you have been fully vaccinated.
When you have to cross prefectural borders to go back to your hometown or go on a trip, tune in to the infection status of where you are going or up-to-date information provided by municipalities along your route before making the final decision to travel. When you are feeling under the weather or having any symptoms of illness, you should stay home.
Dining with many people over long hours is likely to raise the risk of infection. Especially, when dining at places and with people you don’t normally go to or see, please pay attention to the following tips to have a good time;

〇 Make it short and don’t drink too much.
〇 Even at the dining table, when you talk, put the mask back on and don’t talk loud.
〇 When dining out, select a place with adequate infection mitigation measures in place such as good ventilation, strict social distancing, installation of acrylic panels and frequent disinfection.

Each one of you can make a difference when it comes to a battle against COVID-19.

Event: 2-round Giant Slalom (tentative) (No snow board)

Fee: General=3,000yen, Junior High Schoolers and below=1,000yen

Who’s eligible: Elementary schoolers and older who reside in Iwakuni, attend schools or work in Iwakuni.

Date/Time: Jan. 29 (Sat) Reception starts at 07:30

Place: Megahira Ski Slope (Yoshiwa, Hatsukaichi City)
※ Meet and dismiss on site

Capacity: 30 people (FCFS)

Content: Offer classes based on levels-novice, beginners, intermediate and advanced in Alpine Skiing.

Fee: 1,000yen
※ Expense for lift-ride and rental gears not included.
