“Promotion Forum for Town of Exchange in English- English Party in Iwakuni” was held at the Culture Center in Atago Sports Complex on October 27. The event was designed for children to get familiar with English language through a variety of fun activities. Approx. 1,200 children with their family members came to join the party.
Participants experienced simulated scenes at an airport, a store and a hospital, communicating in English and took a mock test to evaluate their English skills using a tablet.
The highlight of the event was Eric Jacobsen’s concert. Everybody tried to sing songs in English and dance to the music all together in high spirit.
After the concert, Mr. Tetsuya Yasukouchi, an instructor of one of the major prep schools gave a lecture on how to study English to be able to speak the language. Students and parents were all ears to his talk.
Iwakuni city is committed to striving for more opportunities for English leaning and international exchanges in the future.
