Eradication Campaign of Illegal Hemp and Poppy

Period: May 1 (Wed)-June 30 (Sun)

Drugs that are abused and become a serious social problem are opium and morphine extracted from opium poppies.Some kinds of poppies are allowed to grow as ornamental plants but some of them cannot be allowed. Hemp is prohibited to grow by law.
During the 2018 Campaign, about 900 illegal poppies were discovered within the city.

Web edition of Iwakuni City Hazard Map updated

A web edition hazard map has been updated on Iwakuni City Homepage. In addition to the already posted data of predicted damage by the flooding of Oze river, the updated edition has the data of predicted damage in the basin of Nishiki river, Shimata river, Hirata river and Yu river by the flooding.
The Hazard Map can be printed and handed out at Crisis Management Section, General Branch Office, Branch Office or Sub Branch Office.
