Fall National Traffic Safety Campaign

Fall National traffic safety campaign kicks in. Let’s follow the traffic rules and practice good driving manners to prevent traffic accidents.

Enforced period: September 21 (Fri) – 30 (Sun)

Objectives:
○ Securing of safe traffic of children and elderly and prevention of traffic accidents involving aged drivers.
○ Prevention of traffic accidents at dusk and night involving pedestrians and bicyclists.
○ Thorough enforcement of buckling up all the seat belts and proper use of child seats.
○ Eradication of Drunk Driving.
○ Promotion of use of reflective devices and high-beam.
○ Promotion of Speed-Down.

Japan-US Exchange Event-“Rice Harvesting”

Date and time: Oct.6 (Sat), 10:00-13:30

Meeting place: Ten-no Elementary school

Capacity: 30 people (FCFS)　   　　*Preschoolers need to be accompanied by parent(s).

Content: Hands-on Rice-harvesting and lunch.

Admission: 500yen ( 5 years old and above)

What to bring: Towel, drink, hat, boots, gloves and change of clothes.

2nd Goodwill Relay Marathon 2018 in Iwakuni

Teams of 5-15 members run a 1.4km special circuit course and compete for the number of laps made within 4 hours. There is a Costume competition, too.

Entry qualification: Healthｙ elementary school boys and girls and older who could run a lap all by himself/herself.
※ Participation with baby sling, piggyback, wheelchair or seeing-eye-dog as an escort runner is not allowed. Handicapped runners or runners with visual and hearing disabilities accompanied by an escort runner are eligible to participate.

Date and time: Dec.2 (Sun), Opening ceremony=9:30a.m.  Start=10a.m. ( rain or shine.)

Place: 55 Field, Atago Sports Complex

Sake Tasting Train

Date/time: (1) Oct.6 (Sat)  ,  (2) Oct.20 (Sat)   Dep. Iwakuni Sta.=around 12.30

Capacity: (1),(2)=50 each (FCFS)     ※ Minimum number of participants: 20

Content: To enjoy the tasting of five brands of local sake with a lunch box on a train of Nishikigawa Seiryu Line looking out the window of Nishikigawa Seiryu Line at the fall colors.
※　Amount of sake is limited.

Fare: 7,000yen
※Round ticket, food and drink included.
※Round adult ticket for Tokotoko Train can be purchased at 500yen if interested.
