● Aid/cash handout for furlough in response to the spread of COVID-19

80% of original daily pay (up to 11,000 yen/day) will be granted to employees who have been directed to take furlough by the owners of SMEs without leave allowance.

A recipient of aid/cash handout for furlough in response to the spread of COVID-19 is eligible for subsidy worthy of 20% of monthly pay with up to 2,000yen/a day.

Business Office to Handle Iwakuni City Premium Gift Certificates

City is looking for business offices that can handle “Iwakuni City Premium Gift Certificates” to be sold from Oct. 20 (Tue) in the hope that the gift certificates would help revitalize the city’s economy seriously affected by COVID-19.  Thank you for your cooperation on this project.

※ Announcement will be made by Oct.1 issue of Iwakuni News Letter as to how to purchase the gift certificates.

○ Members of Chamber of Commerce and Industry/Commerce and Industry Association, Regional Commerce and Industry Federation=free

○ Non-members=subject to fees (free for small-scale enterprises if confirmed by the city)

※ No charge for cash conversion at banking facilities.

Japan-US Goodwill Relay Marathon 2020 in Iwakuni

Teams of 5+ compete for a 4-hour relay marathon passing a tasuki sash.
