US Softball WNT held a training camp at Kizuna stadium from Aug.25 – 27. This training camp was for the “2019 Japan Cup International Women’s Softball Championship” held in Takasaki city, Gunma prefecture from Aug. 30. A large crowd of fans came to the stadium to watch the world’s top class athletes up close. On Aug. 25, about 70 local elementary school children and WNT members got together for an exchange event to play “Janken (Rock, Paper, Scissors) “ and “Origami (Paper Folding).WNT members struggled with the unfamiliar “Origami” but managed to fold a paper into a crane assisted by children. Their challenge paid off.
On Aug.27, a scheduled exhibition game with Toyota Motor Women’s Softball Team was rained out, but they played an intra-squad game for the gathered fans instead. After the game, they kindly took their time to sign autographs for the fans. Fans got their time’s worth in this exchange event.

On Sep.1 “Iwakuni Fork Performing Art Festival” was held at the City Culture Center. Ten local groups from Folk Performing Art Preservation Society participated in this event and performed Taiko (Japanese drum) and dance, Shishimai (Lion dance) and Kagura (Shinto dance). The audience of about 500 was mesmerized by the valiant Kagura dance and powerful Taiko performance. A variety of Folk Performing Arts have been handed down from one generation to another in each local district within the city of Iwakuni.

In order to live a happy life with your pet, you need to pay due respect to the neighbors. September and October are designated as manner improvement campaign months to the pet owners.Please take a moment to think seriously about the life with your pet once again.
A pet dog needs to be registered under Rabies Prevention Act. Have your pet dog or cat wear a collar or microchipped with necessary information for identification.
A dog over 91 days old is to be registered only once in his whole life and to be vaccinated against rabies every year by law. This applies to any dog raised indoor 24/7. It is against the law not to have your dog registered or vaccinated.
A cat reproduces 2-4 times a year with multiple babies each time. You’ll have more than enough kittens unless you have it neutered or spayed.
Failure to keep dogs on leash is against the Pet Dog Control Act of Yamaguchi prefecture. When going out for a walk or an exercise with a dog, always keep it on leash.
To avoid any troubles with neighbors or to protect your pet cats from danger of accident or infectious diseases, please keep and raise them indoor.
Make sure to lead your pet not to go for a wee or a poo at someone else’s property or premises or in a public place. Pick the droppings to take them back home.
Animals cry for many reasons. Try to understand why and get rid of what’s causing them to cry.
