Hygiene measures in the event of natural disasters like torrential rain

Should inundation above or under floor level result from heavy rain caused by the rainy season or the typhoons, first, clean the damaged area, second, wash and wipe the mud off the walls and floors and then dry them up.

It is also advised that before putting anything in the mouth, wash your hands thoroughly and cook your meals with adequate heat as the risk of food poisoning rises at this time of the year.

Those who’d like to get the flooded area disinfected, please contact Environment Protection Section after cleaning and drying up the area completely.

Enforcement of Sanitary Management of Living Environment

Control of hygiene pests!

Hygiene pests like cockroaches become very active as temperature goes up. When using insecticides for extirpation, please follow the instructions and directions for use and pay extra precautions for safety.

 Pay attention to ventilation!

Cases of becoming sick and ill have been seen in a newly built, rebuilt or renovated building caused by the use of building materials or interior materials that diffuse chemical agent coupled with high airtightness of the building.

As the rate of diffusing usually gets high in a hot season, ventilation is advised to the maximum extent possible.
