The Recycle Plaza reopened for processing metals and crushed waste!

The Recycle Plaza reopened and resumed processing of metals and crushed waste. The facility was unusable due to the fire in last October. Thank you for your cooperation.

The fire was caused by the Lithium Ion battery (Rechargeable battery) mixed in the metals and crushed waste.  Please separate rechargeable battery and take them out on the scheduled day of difficult-to treat waste, or take them to recycling cooperation shops or small household appliances collection box.

Direct delivery of burnable garbage to the Sunrise Clean Center

The Sunrise Clean Center will be opened on April 1 (Mon) and the old facility (Shuyo Environmental Maintenance center) will be closed. Please refer to the garbage collection calendar for its schedule and bring the burnable garbage if you wish to deliver.

Attention to Argentine Ant, specified alien species

Habitat of Argentine Ant has been confirmed in Iwakuni City. They live under flower pots, planters, stones, and dead leaves, or in the gap of cracks of concrete structures, and the space of things as their nests. Please check the existence of ants when you move pots, plants, seedlings and materials form the area where ant’s habitat has been confirmed.

Bicycle parking lot at the east entrance of Iwakuni Station was renewed

A new bicycle parking lot was created at the east entrance of Iwakuni Station by the Iwakuni Station Area development planning. The previous bicycle parking lot will be closed during April due to the station square construction. Please use the new bicycle parking lot.

Nishikigawa Seiryu Line releases “Day Time Discounted Tickets”

Discounted round trip tickets are available for specified trains

Round trip fare:
1000 yen for Adult, 500 yen for Child (Age 6 to 12)
(Regular round trip fare: 2300 yen for adult, 1150 yen for child)

Trains:
◆Departing from Iwakuni Station - 9:53AM, 11:10AM, 14:15PM
◆Departing from Nishiki-cho Station – 9:55AM, 12:31PM, 14:14PM

Ticket sales office: Nishiki-cho Station and Iwakuni Castle Ropeway Mountain Foot Station※If you take other than specified trains, a full fare is required.

Operation day:
◆Daily operation – through April 7 (Sun), April 27(Sat) ~ May 6(Mon), July 27 (Sat) ~ August 25 (Sun)
◆Weekend and Holidays – through November 30 (Sat)

◆From Nishiki-cho Station = 10:00am, 12:30pm, 14:10pm, (15:50pm*)
◆From Souzu-kyou Onsen = 10:50am, 13:20pm, 15:00pm, (16:40pm*)
*Time in the parentheses are only for May 3(Fri)-5(Sun) and August 13(Tue)-15(Thus)

*Toko-Toko Train’s reservations are available for Nishiki-Gawa Railway users. There will be discounts of 150 yen for adults and 50 yen for children per one way upon reservation.
