Look out for Invasive Alien Species-Argentine Ants !

　Argentine ants-they inhabit here in Iwakuni, too-make their nests under plant/flower pots, planters, stones, trees and dead leaves or in the cracks of concrete structures and hollow spaces of things.

　When moving plant/flower pots, plants, seedlings, and/or materials out from the place where Argentine ants were previously spotted, please make sure there are no ants hiding in those things.

　Please contact us whenever you have spotted what seems to be an Argentine ant or for any questions you may have.

Issuing of pesticide to all-out effort to eradicate Argentine ants

　Portion of pesticide will be issued to community associations planning to engage in eradication effort.

Nishikigawa Railway Child Railroader

Targeted at: Elementary school students ( Parent’s escort needed)

Capacity: 40 people

※ Subject to drawing in case of too many applicants

Content: Pre-departure inspection, conductor experience, train announcement, guidance), simulated experience of the visually disabled and tour of Kirara Yume tunnel.

Fare: Elementary school student=500 yen

※ Train ticket for elementary school student is free (except the one from Iwakuni Sta.-Kawanishi Sta. which are on the JR line). Parents must pay for the prescribed ticket for the trip.
